Hey everyone! I recently repotted several of my houseplants (including a rhaphidophora decursiva, a gasteraloe, and a golden pothos) about a week ago. I was advised at a local nursery to use a basic potting mix (Lambert Potting Mix, which is mostly peat moss) for these plants. However, I'm worried I might have made a mistake since I've been reading that they might be prone to root rot with this soil. Should I repot them again soon with a better draining mix, or is it better to just leave them and wait until they outgrow their current pots? Any advice would be super helpful!

I'd personally leave them for now. I repotted my plants into a generic mix too, and they turned out just fine! At least keep an eye on them, and only repot if you see them starting to decline.
I’d suggest waiting a bit unless you just switched the pots without messing with the roots. Repotting usually stresses them out a lot. If you're worried about the soil being too heavy, just make sure you're not overwatering them. A brighter spot might help them out if you're really concerned!
Feel the moisture level in the soil. Stick a chopstick in there and see if it’s still damp. If it is, you should definitely repot. Just remember, a generic mix can work, but it really depends on the other conditions too. If your plants are drying out well, then they might be okay. But if they’re looking stressed, repotting could prevent serious issues down the line, like root rot. It’s a bit of a risk, but better safe than sorry!
Honestly, I’d go ahead and repot. Once root rot starts, you're gonna face a much bigger issue than just shocking your plants for a little while, you know? Better to be proactive!
I definitely recommend repotting the gasteraloe right away; it's pretty sensitive and might die if you leave it in that soil. As for the other two, they might be okay if you keep an eye on how you're watering them. Just be careful with potting them again too soon, it can stress them out!
It’s pretty hard to kill a pothos, so you should be good with that one! Just make sure they’re getting decent light and you should be fine!
Only consider repotting if you notice signs of decline. I had a similar experience with a plant that wasn’t in the right soil, but it didn’t show issues until the second watering. Just keep a close watch on them and only repot if you really see them struggling!
