Should I Repot My Monstera Again So Soon?

I've had my monstera for about a month, and I'm really considering whether I should repot it again. Right now, it's in regular potting soil that holds too much moisture, which I used because it's what I had available. I have some materials coming in to create a better soil mix (cocoa chips, orchid bark, perlite, etc.) by Friday. The plant is super loose in the pot; if I untie it from the moss pole, it practically falls over! I think I overdid it when I last repotted, taking off too much soil from the root ball and not packing it well enough. Now, my monstera seems to be in some kind of transplant shock after that last repotting mishap. I'm not totally sure if it's shock or possibly overwatering, given the soil's moisture retention. Should I go ahead and repot as soon as my new materials arrive to fix the soil and the loose setup, or should I wait a few weeks to see if it recovers from the shock before making any changes? I just want to avoid stressing it out more than it already is!

If you can hold off on repotting, that might be the best route. Give your monstera a chance to bounce back from the transplant shock before risking another move. But if it's really struggling and can't wait, then go for the repotting with your new mix! Just be gentle with it.

Could you share pictures of your monstera and the setup? It helps to see what kind of issues it’s showing. Are the leaves really droopy? If it looks a bit flimsy, maybe it could use some support or adjustments in lighting! Just remember, it’s not on the brink of dying, so take your time with it!

Here’s a pic I just took! The leaves are drooping a bit, but they’re still soft and green. It's getting natural light from a north-facing window. I have grow lamps on the way to help, too.

Honestly, I wouldn’t repot right after you just did it. Stressing it again shortly after could make things worse. Maybe give it a week or two to see if it starts to perk up on its own. Watch those drooping leaves! They might just need time to adapt.
