I'm considering purchasing a 500m2 plot of land that includes a small cabin. The cabin's interior is dry and feels stable with no visible water damage, but the outside, especially the roof, is in rough shape. We plan to occasionally use it for a night or two during warmer months. The asking price is €30,000 for the land and the cabin, and I'm trying to figure out if it's realistically salvageable on a small budget. Is it worth fixing up the roof, or should I plan to tear it down? Are there major concerns that I should keep in mind? My partner and I are somewhat handy, but we're not experts. Any advice from those who've been in a similar situation or have knowledge about cabin repairs would be greatly appreciated!

I'd definitely recommend putting a new roof on it and maybe moving the lean-to away. The cabin looks like it has potential, and I've stayed in way worse conditions! If the land is worth it and you have the budget for improvements, go for it!

Totally agree! It can be a fun little getaway even in rough conditions.
