I've always left our bath panel unsealed, but now I'm getting concerned about water getting underneath and possibly rotting the floor. My kid loves to splash around in the tub, and I want to make sure we're not inviting water damage! Is it better to seal the panel with silicone, or should I leave it unsealed to let moisture escape and prevent humid conditions? Any advice would be great!

You should seal it for sure! You don’t want water collecting under there. If it’s been unsealed for a while, just make sure to check for any potential damage first.
Definitely go for sealing it! Using a good tub and tile silicone will ensure that water stays out. It's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to water and wood floors.
Absolutely seal it up as soon as you can! However, if the panel's been unsealed for a few months now, keep an eye out for any signs of mold or rot. A good tip is to use a space heater to dry out any moisture underneath before you seal it. If you can, you might want to see how bad the situation is with a moisture probe. Trust me, addressing these issues earlier can save you a lot of hassle later! Also, if you have access, you could consider checking beneath the tub for any damage and potentially treating it before sealing. Good luck with the splash zone and keep that floor dry!
Not at all! Sealing should actually help as long as you’ve dried it out first. Just aim to address any underlying damage as it comes up.

Would sealing it now make any existing issues worse?
