Should I Shave My Body Hair, Especially My Private Area?

I've mainly just shaved my face, but I'm a pretty hairy guy with hair on my chest, stomach, legs—basically my whole body. Now that I've started working out, I'm wondering if I should shave these areas or if it's fine to leave them as they are. I'm especially curious about shaving my abs since I've noticed that most guys in gym selfies seem to have smooth skin, and I feel like a hairy abdomen would look weird. Also, does anyone have tips for shaving down there? Should I use the same buzzer or razor that I use for my face? Any advice would really help me out!

For trimming, just use a good pair of body clippers—those work wonders. I usually buzz down to a low length, then shave the crucial areas. This way, it doesn't grow back super fast and feels soft. Just remember, don’t forget to clean your tools!

Great advice! I love the feeling after a trim, but going too short can be rough.

I just trim my armpits to keep it neat but don't go for a full shave like the guy from Ahh! Real Monsters. I keep it simple so it doesn't get too furry, but a full shave might not be necessary unless you really want that look.

Right? I want it to look clean but also not baby-smooth. Just keep it presentable!

Same here! It's about finding that balance so you look well-groomed without being overly manicured.

Listen, I used to shave my chest, but I found it just grew back prickly and uncomfortable. Now I just keep it trimmed. As for the pubes, some hair can be sexy! Just do what you feel is right. Also, shaving every day is a hassle, so I stick with trimming when needed.

Yes! I've learned to embrace my hair. It’s all about personal preference!

Preach! Hairiness is natural and part of being a guy.

As a guy, I think hair is perfectly fine. It’s natural! But if you feel more comfortable trimming a bit down there for hygiene or aesthetics, I totally get that. Just be careful when shaving because it can lead to ingrown hairs, which are no fun, trust me!

Totally agree! A little trim goes a long way without the hassle of a full shave. It's all about comfort.

When it comes to shaving down there, I usually go with a buzzer and then clean up with a razor for the sensitive parts. Just make sure to use a different one than what you use for your face, for hygiene reasons. It's not as scary as it sounds, just take your time and maybe use some shaving cream that's gentle on sensitive areas.

Sounds like a solid plan! I also find that using a trimmer first helps avoid any nicks.

Absolutely! Make sure to stretch the area and go slow to avoid cuts.
