Hey everyone! I'm in the process of upgrading my solar panels and I have two strings connected to a junction box that's about 18 feet away from my main line. I've now connected the new panels using a 10awg multi-strand copper wire to a different main line, but the quick disconnect lines are around 10-15 feet longer than necessary. Is it better to shorten these quick disconnect lines to the panels instead of coiling up the excess wire? Just trying to make sure my setup is efficient!

Yeah, shortening the cables makes a lot of sense! It can help reduce voltage drop, which is important for efficiency, so trimming those lines is a wise choice.
It really won't hurt to shorten the cables if you do it right. Make sure you have the right MC4 connectors and watch some tutorials if you’re not familiar with the process. It's easy to mess up those internal connections!
Definitely a good practice! Keeping excess wire can create issues, so as long as you can make the right connections, shortening them instead of coiling sounds better. Just try to avoid any messy setups!
