Should I Silicone the Bottom of My Storm Door?

I recently finished re-silicanning most edges of my storm door because there was a lot of old silicone residue. I wasn't sure if I was dealing with dirt or old silicone in some spots, so I ended up applying silicone all along the bottom as well. Was this the right call, or do I need to leave some gaps for drainage? Here's [a link to some pictures](https://imgur.com/a/2tVHDVS) to help illustrate.

You actually made a good choice by sealing it. Just a heads up, I would have gone with clear silicone instead of the white stuff. As for drainage, if water is getting into your brick molding, that's a bigger problem altogether!

But remember, brick isn't waterproof! We should be waterproofing before brick installation and definitely have weep holes at the bottom.

It's usually best to only seal the bottom on the inside. If you seal the outside, you might trap moisture instead of letting it drain, which can lead to issues later on.

I think that's not quite right. Sealing outside is sometimes necessary, depending on the design.
