I'm currently renting a house with a spacious garage where I've built a nice workshop, but I have to move to a flat this summer that lacks indoor space for power tools. I own a miter saw and a heavy SawStop CTS. The miter saw is manageable since I can store it in the basement and bring it up when needed, but the SawStop is too heavy to move easily, and I doubt I'll use it much in my new place. Luckily, there's a tool library nearby where I can rent space for cheap, which has a cabinet saw. I'm wondering if I should store the CTS but likely not use it, lend it to a friend for an extended period, or sell it to put the money into savings until I eventually have a proper workshop again, which could be years. The CTS and its accessories are worth around $1500 CAD. I'm just torn between the potential loss of a great tool and the practicality of selling it.

Storing tools can add up. A few years back, I stored some that cost me more in storage fees than they were worth. If you have no immediate plans to use it, selling might be your best bet, especially since you have access to a tool library now.
If you really love your SawStop and can't see yourself parting with it, consider storing it if you have free space. But if years might go by before you can use it again, selling might make more sense. You could always buy a new one down the line when you have the space.
Good point! And who knows, by then you might find an even better model that fits your needs.
I’d say go ahead and sell it. If you ever get to build a new shop, starting fresh might be a better approach and you can use that money for something else in the meantime.

Yeah, it's just not worth the monthly fees. If you don't have a solid timeline for using the saw, just let it go.
