Hey everyone! I'm considering making a switch from Ego to Milwaukee for my outdoor power equipment (OPE). I'm going to stick with my Honda gas mower, but I want to switch all my other tools to electric. From what I've seen, it seems like Quik Lok and Multi Head options are pretty evenly matched, but the Ego blower definitely outperforms the Milwaukee dual battery Fuel both in price and performance. Since I already own some Milwaukee tools, I don't have many large batteries or any of the Forges yet. Anyone have thoughts on this switch?

Everything I use is Milwaukee except for my gas mower, and I've been quite happy. I make it work with the 5ah XC batteries, so I’m good with the blower and quick-lok head. Ego might have the best battery platform, but since I already invested in Milwaukee and have a ton of batteries, I decided to stick with them. Just waiting for them to release a pressure washer now!
I heard that you can fit Ego tools into the QuikLok system with just a few tweaks. I’m actually thinking about getting the Ego snow shovel for my QuikLok this winter!
Yeah, I think they fit but be prepared for the Milwaukee versions to be less powerful than the Ego options. Still, they could work well enough for light tasks. I’ve seen some folks using attachments like the rubber and bristle brushes for clearing snow too!
I've got both Ego and Milwaukee OPE, but I haven't really tried the Milwaukee outdoor equipment yet. Ego gear has really impressed me over the years and I haven’t had many issues!
I've been using Ego tools for about five years now, and I’m not super happy with the build quality or customer service. I’ve got a full range of their tools, but that’s actually why I didn’t switch to Flex. Honestly, their electronics are solid, but I've felt like the mechanical components lacked durability.
I wasn’t a fan of the Ego CF shaft trimmer. It had a weird trigger—it was just either on or off, with no variable speed option. Also, it spun in the opposite direction than what I was used to with my Echo gas trimmer! Recently, I switched to the M18 Quick Lok and it has plenty of power for what I need, and I love how it feels similar to my Echo.
I've been using the Ego 2156 and their 530 blower, and honestly, I love both of them. Started with the QuikLok, but once I tried Ego, I didn’t look back!

Thanks for the info! I really hope they’ll come out with a killer MX pressure washer or something. I checked out the EGO, but it only gives about 60 minutes of runtime with two 56v 6ah batteries, which is a bit limiting for me. I think I’ll go with an electric Ryobi instead, as unexciting as that sounds!
