Should I Upgrade My Drill to the 1007 Without New Batteries?

Hey everyone! My DeWalt 996 drill just gave up on me after I made the mistake of mixing mortar without enough water, which stressed the drill. I'm considering upgrading to the 1007 since it's on sale, but I only have the traditional 4AH and 5AH XR batteries. I don't want to invest in the new PowerStack batteries right now, as I already have multiple batteries. Is it still a good idea to go for the 1007 without the high output batteries? Thanks for your advice!

I found a great deal on the 1007 drill with a free 5AH PowerStack battery for $250! They only have one left in stock though, so you might want to hurry. If that doesn’t work for you, the Amazon deal for $220 for just the tool might be your best bet, especially for the price in CAD.

Thanks for the heads-up! I checked it out, but unfortunately, they don’t ship to Canada. The Amazon deal looks like the best option for me right now.

Absolutely, I think it's worth replacing the 996 with the new 1007. You can always get the better batteries later when you need them.
