I'm currently painting a tiny powder room that's too small for a roller. I started with a hand brush for all four walls, but the results seem to get worse with each wall. The paint appears to dry up quickly as I go along. For my second coat, I'm considering using inexpensive brushes from the dollar store and maybe using a new one for each wall. My main brush might have been getting too dry, and even the touch-up work with a 1-inch brush looks rough. Will a second coat help improve the overall appearance? And why do I have streaks that seem to alter the wall color in some spots?

Have you thought about a cabinet roller? They’re small, perfect for tight spaces, and might give you more even coverage than a traditional brush.
Remember, rollers weren't always a thing, and brushes were once the go-to for painting everything. If you're going for a vintage look, brushing might be the way to go. But just be prepared; it can take longer for a smooth finish.
Honestly, you might want to rethink using brushes for this. If the wall is wide enough, a roller would probably give you better results. Using a roller could actually save you time and money on brushes that you'll end up replacing a lot. Plus, rollers are easy to clean and reuse!

Good idea! Do they really provide quicker and smoother coverage compared to a 3-inch brush?
