Should I Use Plywood or Lumber for My Flip Cart?

I'm working on a flip cart to hold my planer and miter saw, which weigh about 150 lbs combined. I initially decided to follow a design by Gary Nelles that features 3/4 plywood. However, I recently came across a video from Stumbling Bear Woodcraft suggesting that lumber might be the better option. Since I'll be storing this cart in my garage in California, where it's usually dry but can get humid at times, I'm curious about others' opinions on whether plywood or lumber would be the best choice for this project.

I would go with plywood unless it's going to be exposed to moisture a lot. Plywood is generally strong enough for projects like this and can handle the weight without much worry.

Why do you recommend plywood? What are its advantages?
