Hey everyone! I have a quick question about watering my houseplants. When I'm watering them, does anyone also water the leaves? I usually shower my plants (except for my succulent and cactus) like my pileas, calatheas, monsteras, and alocasias to clean the leaves. But I'm wondering if doing this once a week is too much? Should I just be watering the soil and not the leaves? Thanks for any advice! 🙂

For the plants you listed (excluding succulents and cacti, which prefer minimal moisture), it's fine to shower them as long as the temperature isn’t too cold and there's enough air circulation. I tend to wash mine every couple of months when they gather dust. Once a week might be more than necessary unless your plants are super dusty. Just ensure they can dry within a few hours to avoid any issues. Remember, some plants, like calatheas, really don’t like hard water, so stick with that demineralized water for them!
It's generally okay to shower your plants as long as they have good airflow to help them dry quickly. Those leaves can handle regular water, but if they stay damp for too long, like pressed against a window, they might start to rot. A monthly shower can help get rid of dust too! If you're worried, using a microfiber cloth to wipe them down can be a good alternative, but don't stress too much if they dry off quickly after. It’s all good!
Cool, thanks! Also, I've heard that calatheas should be watered with demineralized water, is that true?

Thanks for the info! I’ll definitely use demineralized water for my calathea. Appreciate your help! 🙂
