I'm curious if there's any real advantage to watering the leaves of my vegetable plants in my outdoor garden, or should I focus on just watering the soil where the plants grow?

I do occasionally rinse off my plants if they get dusty, but I aim to water the soil instead. For my evergreens, I make sure to water around the dripline since that's where their feeder roots are. As long as your plants are healthy and not overly stressed, you should be good to go with just watering the ground.
Honestly, when it comes to watering, just make sure to get the dirt wet. That's the real goal!
LOL, simple but effective advice!
It's generally better to water the soil directly rather than the leaves. Watering the leaves can actually lead to issues like rust or mildew on some plants. The most significant benefit of spraying leaves would be rinsing off pests, but for most cases, sticking to the soil is the way to go.
Right! Keeping the soil moist is key for healthy plants.

That makes total sense! Healthy soil equals happy plants.
