I've noticed some pretty noticeable cracks on the ceiling of my condo, which was built in 1980. I live on the first floor of a three-story building, and the cracks seem to run all along the ceiling, with one area being particularly bad. Is this something that's common in older buildings, or should I be worried about potential issues?

It looks like what you're dealing with is actually a ceiling issue, not the roof itself. Cracks like that are often just the result of settling, and they usually follow the lines of the drywall beads. It’s pretty common in older buildings, so it may not be a significant worry. Just keep an eye on it!

Thanks for the clarification! I was really concerned it was a bigger issue, so it’s nice to hear this might be normal.
