I'm currently renovating my bathroom and have hired a contractor (along with his helper). The labor cost is $13,000, and I'm covering the materials separately. I've got a couple of questions: Should I tip them at the end of the project? If so, how much is appropriate?

Honestly, unless they go way above and beyond, there's no need to tip. Referrals and good reviews mean a lot more to them than cash tips. If you feel they did an exceptional job, consider recommending them to friends or leaving a positive review online instead, that's usually more valuable for their business!
Typically, you shouldn't tip the contractor himself. However, if the workers are doing a fantastic job, something small like lunch can really help keep things moving. I found that just feeding them can reduce their long lunch breaks! I once tipped a young worker who really went above and beyond on a job. It helped build a good relationship, and he's been my go-to since then!
In general, it's not common to tip contractors since they're already getting paid what they agreed upon in the contract. That said, if you want to show appreciation, consider providing some snacks or drinks to keep morale high during the project. It doesn't have to be anything extravagant—just a little something like pizza or cold drinks can do wonders!
I totally agree! I once got my crew some cold beers at the end of a long week, and they really appreciated it.

So true! I always make sure to leave a review for anyone I've been impressed with. It helps them out a ton!
