Simple Gift Ideas for a Beginner Woodworker

Hey everyone! My wife just started wood carving, and she already has gloves and finger wraps. I'm looking for some easy gift ideas for her birthday. She also has carving tools and a bag to keep her shavings in, but I'd love to find something extra special or useful. Any recommendations for beginner books or gifts? Thanks!

Consider getting her some basswood blanks in various sizes. They’re perfect for practice and help her try new projects. Also, a variety pack of sanding papers would be super useful! A solid small saw or even a new knife could really up her carving game too.

You might also look into getting her some palm gouges. They’re easy to handle and can really enhance her carving experience!

If you're looking for something practical, a small set of rasps could be really handy for her—great for sanding those tricky little spots. They’re a fun addition to any woodworker’s toolkit!

How about a spoon carving knife? It’s a fun and unique tool that allows for a different type of carving. Perfect for a beginner looking to explore new techniques!
