Spring is finally here, and I'm feeling a bit lost on how to get my yard under control. I'm not looking to start a major garden, just trying to prevent my yard from becoming a jungle. Every time I glance outside, I get overwhelmed thinking about whether I should rake, trim bushes, pull weeds, or maybe even light a match (just kidding, mostly!). If you've got tips on how to keep your garden looking decent without being a gardening expert, I'd love to hear what your first steps are for spring! I really need a game plan to get started.

When spring hits, I usually start by raking my yard and garden. It really helps me see what needs work, and once I’ve picked up all the leaves, I feel like it looks way better right off the bat. Then I tackle the yard in sections, getting rid of weeds, trimming bushes, and cleaning up the edges of my garden beds. Once everything’s cleared of sticks and debris, I give the lawn a good mow. It can take me a few days to get it all done, but taking it slow and working one day at a time really pays off!
Do you have any photos of your yard? Would love to see what it looks like!
I like to handle weeding while I mow the grass. If there are too many weeds to tackle in one go, I just decide on a certain number to pull and call it a day. I bring a little dandelion puller with me and pop them out as I come across them. It’s effective enough that I stay ahead of the dandelions in my yard. Plus, my neighbors have a ton of them, so the bees have plenty to eat, and my flowers are thriving. Just remember, a little bit every day can be exercise too, so it’s a win-win!

Thank you!!!
