Starting a Landscaping & Lawncare Business – Pricing and Winter Tips

Asked By NatureNinja42 On

Hey everyone! I'm launching my own landscaping and lawncare business in Ontario because I'm really feeling burned out from my healthcare job. I've always had a passion for landscaping, so I'm excited to make this leap! I would love some advice on how to set my pricing. If anyone could share their pricing strategies, that would be awesome! Additionally, I'm curious about how winter affects your business in Canada or the northern states. Any insights would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot!

A good way to kick things off is to go door-to-door selling your services. It's a great way to gauge what people value in landscaping. You'll find some unexpected feedback!

If you're focusing on lawn care, I’d recommend offering mowing services only to full-service clients or to those who book other services. Mowing usually isn’t super profitable; it’s more about getting your foot in the door so you can upsell higher-profit services later. As for pricing, it's all about your location—there can be big differences in rates even within a short drive!
