Starting Seeds: Any Concerns with Used Trays?

I'm getting ready to plant around 400 seeds tomorrow and I've got a bunch of trays to use. I cleaned out the old soil but didn't do a deep clean. I did soak them in a strong hydrogen peroxide solution. Will they be safe to use after drying? Also, are 72-slot trays suitable for most vegetables? I have a few trays with fewer slots for larger soil volumes; would certain veggies prefer those?

I typically use 72-cell trays for most of my plants! Once I transplant tomatoes, I switch to 36-cells for them outdoors, and I've had success with peppers and okra in the same trays. I don't worry too much about cleaning them beyond knocking off the old soil; it's just part of my gardening style.

Thanks for the insight! I’ll definitely go ahead and use them for most veggies except maybe carrots.

Your trays should be fine as long as they dry out properly after the hydrogen peroxide soak. The depth is more important than width for seed starting, so you're good there!
