I hear that starting from seeds or crowns is the way to go—but is it better to use seeds or crowns? I know seeds can take a long time. Crowns seem easier, but I read that I should avoid harvesting or trimming for the first three years. Why is that? Can trimming the tips actually help with root development? I'm worried about the ferns taking up too much space in my garden. Also, I've noticed that water seems minimal—what's the best way to ensure they grow well? Thanks for any guidance!

I started with crowns too, and they did great! Just make sure to get healthy ones. In my first two years, I let all the shoots grow into ferns, and now I'm starting to harvest some while still letting others grow. Balance is key!
