Struggling to Find a Reliable Gas Can – Any Recommendations?

Has anyone else noticed how hard it is to find a decent gas can in the U.S.? I'm tired of running into cans with spouts that don't seal properly or have those frustrating air vents that seem to cause more spills than help. I've spilled gas everywhere—on my mower, my clothes, you name it! I've spoken to others who share my frustration, especially my female friends who find the spouts difficult to operate. It feels like the government's regulations have created more of a hassle than a solution. I'm looking for suggestions on gas cans that actually work without these annoying features. If you have found a way around this issue or have a favorite can, please share!

I'm really happy with my No-Spill cans! The button works like a charm and I haven't spilled a drop since I started using them. Plus, they're made in the USA, which is a bonus. Check out their website!

That sounds great, but I'm curious—how much pressure do you actually need to push that button? I’ve found that they require a lot of strength, and sometimes I end up using my mower for leverage just to operate it.

I had a similar experience. I loved the spout design, but my 2.5-gallon can cracked down the center after a while. Just discovered it when it was full of gas too!

Have you thought about aftermarket spouts? You can find some decent options on Amazon. Just make sure they fit well with your gas can; that’s often where the leak problems start.

I tried that but still ran into leaks where the spout connects to the can. I think the threads on these new spouts just don’t match up well, which is super annoying!

If you're into metal gas cans, I really like the Eagle brand with the yellow plastic cone. I find them less fiddly than others and they've never spilled on me. Plus, they comply with all the regulations, so you know they're safe.

Yeah, I agree! However, I've still had issues with spills if I'm not careful, especially with certain nozzles that get filled with gas when you stop pouring.
