I just got a new 12-inch sliding miter saw, but I'm having a hard time loosening the blade screw. I've checked the manual and watched several YouTube tutorials that make it seem straightforward, but I'm stuck. The wrench provided with the saw got ruined, and I even broke a hex bit trying to turn it. I've used an impact driver, too, but no luck so far. Just to clarify, I am turning it clockwise. Any tips would be appreciated!

You might want to hit it with some penetrating oil like PB Blaster and then use a socket wrench. That helped me get a really stubborn screw off before!
Have you tried turning it counterclockwise? Sometimes folks think they're going the right way, but it helps to check just in case. It might work for you!
I looked that up too, but everything insists it's clockwise. The clamp even shows a clockwise direction.
Honestly, I had a similar issue. Once I thought I was going clockwise and got nowhere, but trying the other way did the trick for me. It might be worth a shot.
I gave it a shot, but no luck—it's really stuck!

Thanks for the tip! I ended up returning the saw and got a new one, which arrived today. Had the blade changed in about 10 minutes. So much easier!
