Hey everyone! I've got two pieces of 2" thick white oak, one measuring 30" and the other 22" long, both 8" wide. I'm having a tough time getting them through my thickness planer without forcing them, even when using a sled due to their lack of flat surfaces. I'm wondering if I'm missing something or if this is just going to require a lot of effort and multiple passes to get through. Any advice?

It’s typical to joint the surface before running it through the planer, so maybe that’s where to start. If your planer requires excessive force, it might be an issue with your feed rollers or maybe the blades need sharpening. White oak can be tough to work with, so ensure your setup can handle it.
Thanks for the tip! I see what you mean about needing a flat reference. My jointer is only 6" wide though, so it complicates things a bit.
