Struggling with Low PV Wattage from Eco-Worthy MPPT?

I've been using two 420W solar panels, each producing about 360-400W during peak sun hours, directly connected to my EcoFlow Delta units with dual MPPT inputs. However, after switching to my Eco-Worthy MPPT and battery setup, I'm shocked to see nearly a 50% drop in power production. The panels have a Voc of 38.06V and an Isc of 14.07A, but when connected in series, I'm only getting about 60V and 6A from the Eco-Worthy MPPT. It's puzzling because I've used 10AWG wire for a short distance of about 50 feet, and I'm unsure why the amp output is so low. I've also ordered a Victron 150/45 to see if it performs better. This experience has me doubting the quality of Eco-Worthy products, especially since I have bought their 48V server rack batteries, and I really hope they won't give me issues too.

What’s the Vmp rating on your panels? For charging a 48V system, you typically want at least 60Vmp minimum. If you're operating too close to that, you're more vulnerable to losses from variations or heat. Plus, some users have noted that Eco-Worthy panels can be slightly overrated in their specs. Make sure you're not hitting a ceiling on your output because of this.

Right! With a Vmp around 31.51V, you're close, which might explain why your amps are low. You mentioned 6A vs. the expected 13A, so that discrepancy indicates something might be off with how the MPPT is handling your setup.

It sounds like you might be facing a voltage mismatch issue. For the MPPT to operate efficiently, there needs to be about an 8V difference between the panel voltage and the battery voltage. If you're seeing approximately 60V from the panels while the battery is around 53V, that could explain the drop in performance. Double-check the voltage specifications in your MPPT manual to ensure you're within the right limits.

Exactly! If you're really close to the battery voltage, it can be tough for the MPPT to pull maximum power. Also, don’t forget that line losses or panel temperatures can bring the output down further, so those could be factors too.
