Struggling with My SawStop Sliding Table – Am I Missing Something?

Asked By CraftyNinja42 On

I recently picked up a SawStop PCS along with the sliding table attachment, but I find myself not using it much. It seems inconvenient and not accurate enough for my needs. It's also too small for handling larger stock. Is there something I'm overlooking? With my shop reorganization in progress, I'm contemplating whether it's time to remove the slider altogether.

I have the slider and I really enjoy using it! One key tip I learned is to square it with a large, accurate triangle against the miter tracks rather than relying on its built-in gauge. Once you do that, it's spot on!

Absolutely, squaring it up with proper tools is essential. Those built-in gauges aren't always trustworthy!

You’re not alone! When I worked at SawStop, I always recommended against the slider because of its footprint and accuracy concerns—most people ended up skipping it. Honestly, less than 5% of our customers chose to buy it.

I don’t regret my decision, but it turns out I rely way more on my track saw than I thought I would. You learn as you go!

It’s tough to hear you’re having issues. My SCM slider works great and is super accurate, so I understand the frustration you're feeling.
