I've been a DIY enthusiast for a while, tackling kitchen and bathroom projects on my own. Recently, I decided to transition from Ryobi tools to DeWalt as I needed new equipment, but I'm having some issues. I started with a DeWalt battery pack, a hammer drill, and a blower, while still using my trusty Ryobi tools that have served me well for years. I also picked up a DeWalt table saw because I thought it would cut better than my old Ryobi one. However, after using it only a handful of times, it suddenly stopped working altogether. I'm frustrated that my Ryobi tools, including a very old table saw, seem to outlast the new DeWalt equipment. My DeWalt 6ah 20V Max XR battery also won't charge anymore, despite being just two years old. Now I'm hesitant to invest further into DeWalt tools since my old Ryobi still works. What should I do?

Make sure your battery is seated properly in the charger! Sometimes they can be a bit snug, and if it’s not locked in correctly, it might show as fully charged when it isn’t. Your table saw should also be covered under the warranty if it’s within three years, so definitely consider that route.
Honestly, brand loyalty for corded tools isn’t as critical as it is for battery-operated ones. If you’re not happy with DeWalt, feel free to check out other brands. There are so many good options out there now that you shouldn’t feel tied to a name.
Exactly! I’ve got tools from all over the place and as long as they work for my needs, that’s all that matters.
Have you tried contacting DeWalt support? Both your table saw and battery are still under warranty, so they might replace them for you. Even reputable brands can have mishaps like this, so it’s worth reaching out to them!

Good point! I had a similar issue with my DeWalt drill once, and that was the problem. I pushed it in harder and it worked like a charm!
