So, I just moved into my first apartment and I've been working on putting up some IKEA curtain brackets. I finally got to the last one and when I started drilling, I hit something hard in the wall and realized I can't drill all the way through. I can't shift the bracket's position because that would mess up the spacing. Is it completely ridiculous to just caulk the bracket onto the wall? I'm at a loss for anything else since I've already had to patch the wall a couple of times after failing to drill. Any advice would be super helpful!

Can you move the bracket a bit to avoid the metal? What type of metal are we talking about? If it's a wire guard, it might not be too big of an issue. If you can't move it, sure, you could try using adhesive, but be cautious as that might not hold up well under the weight. The best route is usually to find a spot that’s clear of metal, align the bracket to keep the spacing looking good, and use drywall anchors to secure it.

I posted a pic for a better look! I might consider moving it an inch, but that would make things uneven (especially since it's a bay window). How could I check where the metal ends without drilling another hole? What’s your go-to method here? Thanks a ton!
