Suggestions for Buying a Large Seven Segment Display in the Netherlands

Hey everyone! I'm working on an art project where I really need a large seven segment display—something around 30 to 40 cm wide. I'm using an Arduino for my project, but I've only come across smaller displays on various websites. I live in The Netherlands, and places like Conrad seem to just stock smaller ones. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I might find larger displays?

Why not go for NeoPixels instead of traditional LEDs? They're pretty affordable and you can manage all the segments with just one control wire from your Arduino. Plus, you can change their colors too!

Exactly! Just like those in the video, but you can make them huge!

Finding displays of that size can be tricky, but check out AliExpress; they have a 12-inch and a 15-inch seven segment display that might work for you. They even have sizes going up to 32 inches!

I need it to be visible from far away, so those small ones won't cut it.

You could also consider custom building one using Electroluminescent (EL) panels or go with an LED array behind a diffuser for that segment look. It's easier if you have access to a 3D printer or a laser cutter!

Thanks for the suggestion!

For a display that big, you might want to consider building your own. You could use a bunch of LEDs behind a diffuser with a cutout shaped like a seven segment display. Just make sure to check your Arduino's current drive limits, since those large displays might need a lot of power!

That makes sense, plus LED arrays are actually easier to find in larger sizes!
