Suggestions for Fast-Growing Privacy Plants

I'm transforming my back garden, which used to be just a plain lawn, into a more enjoyable space. I recently added a small patio that's going to be enlarged by 2 square meters, leaving some grass around it. I need tall plants to create privacy by blocking out a 6ft fence. Ideally, I'm looking for something that can reach 6ft quickly but isn't too deep, as there's only about 1.5ft of space between the fence and the patio. I prefer plants that are bushy at the bottom rather than growing into a thick hedge and they also need to be dog-safe since I have two pups. I'm based in the northeast of England and would love something hardy that stays green as long as possible. Any ideas?

You might want to consider willow! It grows really fast and you can weave it together for a nice textured look. It's not evergreen, but you could plant an evergreen clematis alongside it for year-round greenery and beautiful spring flowers. Just remember it will need a trellis to climb!

Thanks for the tip! I hadn't thought about weaving plants together. I'll definitely look into clematis for some spring blooms too.
