Suspected Moisture Issues in an Older Home – Need Help!

Hey everyone! I own a house from the 1970s and I'm starting to think I might have some moisture or roofing issues. The light switch covers are curling up, and there's mildew under them as well as some around the edges. Recently, I've also noticed that the vent hood drips occasionally, and there are wet spots appearing on the basement ceiling. Since I live in Alabama, where humidity is a constant struggle, I'm wondering if this is just an issue with the humidity in general, or if I really need to get the roof inspected. What do you think?

Have you considered getting a dehumidifier? That could help with the humidity levels in your home and might prevent more moisture issues. Just a thought!

It might be a good idea to inspect the roof, especially if the dripping is consistent and you’re seeing those wet spots. It’s better to check it out before it gets worse! Got any photos of the issues? That might help others give you better advice!
