Hey everyone! I'm a newbie just getting into some home projects to keep busy, and I've just bought my first table saw. I'm trying to take it slow while I get the hang of it. Can anyone share some dos and don'ts or tips for working safely and effectively with a table saw? Thanks!

Making sleds out of plywood for small or repeat cuts is a game changer! It's cheap and super helpful. Just remember to have support for the output pieces, like a table or roller lift, to keep everything steady. Safety first, and enjoy building!

Definitely watch some safety videos—it's way easier to understand in a visual format. Always use a riving knife and push sticks, and consider getting a magnetic feather board for added safety. If a cut ever feels risky, don't do it! Make sure to have safety gear like a push stick, and maybe pick up different blades for ripping and crosscutting.

Always make sure to stand to the left of the blade to avoid kickback. Get comfortable with using push sticks too! It really helps in maintaining control while cutting.

Awesome, thanks! Do you think it's a good idea to keep the clear plastic guard on?
