I've been using a gas-powered Lawnboy with a Honda engine, and over the last three years, I've spent about $300 on repairs, which haven't been successful. It used to start easily but would lose power while cutting, and now it won't start at all!
I'm considering switching to a battery-operated model, specifically the Ryobi 40V with a 6 Ah battery. My lot is around 50x127 feet, considering the space taken up by my small house and garage. Is it a wise decision to go electric? Any recommendations for battery mowers within a budget of $600?

Your experience with the Lawnboy sounds frustrating! Switching to a battery mower definitely makes sense for your lot size. I have the Ryobi 40V, but I'd recommend having at least two batteries on hand. It can die out on you mid-mow if you're not careful. I also keep my old gas Toro for tackling tougher overgrown spots, just in case!

Quick question—I've got a 40V Ryobi trimmer with a 2.6 Ah battery. Could I use that as a backup battery for the lawnmower?
