I'm 21 years old, have a girlfriend, and a young child. I'm considering starting a lawn care business around the Suffolk coast area to support my family. However, I'm really scared to leave my current job. Can anyone share some advice or insights on how to make this transition smoother?

I've seen similar transitions. It can be a great adventure! Just remember it’s hard work—physical and mental. Test the waters first by doing some jobs after your current work hours and on weekends to build your reputation and client base. With dedication and a solid plan, you can make it work. Just keep your tools in good shape, too!

If you’re serious about this, consider starting small and working part-time. Ensure you’re earning at least 75% of your current salary before making the leap. Also, **get yourself insured**—it's essential! Start gathering clients now and maybe offer them regular services even during winter months, like leaf clearance and hedge work. You might also want to create a flyer or get on social media for advertising. Customers really appreciate being reliable and courteous, which can set you apart from others.
