Thoughts on the Dewalt Cordless Mini Shop Vac?

I'm considering purchasing a cordless portable shop vac for household tasks, mainly to clean up cat litter and other similar messes. I currently have a stick vacuum that can convert to a handheld unit, but I'm looking for something with a hose attachment for better reach and versatility. I've come across several opinions stating that the Dewalt cordless shop vac isn't as powerful as some other models. I've read that it performs better with a flex volt battery, but the highest capacity battery I have is a 5Ah. Another option I'm contemplating is the Ryobi 1-gallon model, which comes with a battery and charger for about $140. I'd love to hear from anyone who owns the Dewalt DCV580H mini shop vac and how it performs, especially since I'm leaning towards the battery-only version available nearby.

It sounds like you're asking about the DCV580H model? While it’s pretty handy, I have to say it isn’t super powerful compared to larger shop vacs. Still, it's convenient for small jobs and I can quickly snap a battery in, take it to the car, or clear out some clutter. It performs slightly better when plugged in, but even on battery, it gets the job done.

The cordless stick vacuum? It’s amazing for the price! I have the stick vac, and it does a great job, especially with pet hair and general cleaning around the house.
