I'm looking to upgrade my old portable table saw, which is a Ryobi, and I'm considering the Milwaukee M18 model. I have a stationary table saw in my basement for precise work, but I enjoy having a setup outside a couple of times a year. Most of my power tools are Milwaukee, and although I have power access where I'll be using the saw, I'm concerned about how it uses batteries, especially since I'm planning on working on some fencing and re-decking projects this spring. Has anyone used the Milwaukee M18 table saw? How does it handle battery life, and would I be better off with a corded option like a Dewalt?

Given that you have an inverter, I'd recommend leaning towards the Dewalt. After researching both options, many users say the Milwaukee is great for trim but has issues with hardwoods and consuming batteries quickly during heavier tasks.
I don't own the Milwaukee, but I went through a similar dilemma. I really like my Rigid saw because of its bigger table, while the Milwaukee's table feels a bit cramped. For larger projects like decks or fences, I usually grab a circular saw, as it seems quicker than setting up a table saw.
I have the M18, and it's super handy for trim work! However, I found it a bit lacking when cutting decking, whether it's wood or composite. It handles smaller cuts fine, but struggles with larger lumber – you'll get tired of it if you're doing extensive work.
Totally get it, but if you're making multiple cuts, a table saw can save a lot of time in the long run. "Set it and forget it" is the way to go for efficiency!
