Hey everyone, I'm curious if anyone has tried out the new 870 hydraulic impact for framing or sheet metal work. I'm looking to compare it with the 850 and 860 models. If you have any opinions on which one you prefer or know of any deals, I'd appreciate your insights. I need a new impact tool, thanks!

I actually like all three models, but it really comes down to what you're doing. The 870 is fantastic for indoor work—it's compact and fits into tight spaces really well. However, it only has two speeds and does a bit of a surging thing when you use partial throttle, but that's easy to overlook if you're just driving screws.
For larger screws and more precision, I find the 860 to be my favorite. It's super versatile and compact as well. If you're working on cars, I’d recommend the 850; it has three speeds and great control, but it's about the same size as the 870.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I was wondering if the 860 is smaller compared to the older 848 or 889 since I'm looking to replace my 3-speed model. I’ve had mine warrantied twice because of the switch malfunctioning, and now they're saying they won't fix it past three years. Been more of a headache than a help!
