Tiny Jumping Bugs in My Plant Water – What Are They?

Hey everyone! I'm having a bit of a dilemma with my houseplants. I usually bottom water my plants, but lately, I've noticed these tiny, jumping bugs in the water after I remove a few of them, particularly my begonia and polkadot plant. They seem to be able to jump around both on the water's surface and beneath it. I've been diligent about emptying the water between plantings and haven't spotted any gnats or mites on the plants. The soil looks healthy too. I'm curious if anyone knows what these little bugs might be and whether they could harm my plants? I'm considering doing a peroxide rinse next watering as a precaution. Thanks! ❤️

Those tiny jumping bugs are likely springtails! They thrive in damp soil and aren't harmful to your plants at all. In fact, they can be a sign that your soil is moist, which some plants really enjoy. If your plants prefer drier conditions, it might just mean you're watering a bit too much.
