I just moved into a new house that has a bit of an awkwardly shaped living room. I've included a link to an image (https://imgur.com/kupattd) to help visualize the layout. The lower right corner is angled, and there's a fireplace there with a chimney that I don't plan to use. I'm planning to mount my 85" TV right above the fireplace. My current L-shaped sectional doesn't quite fit the space, so I'm considering getting a smaller, possibly curved couch that would face the TV but be angled relative to the other walls, particularly parallel to the fireplace wall. Here are some additional details: 1) The left wall has an exterior door; 2) The top wall leads to an open entry into the sunroom; 3) The right wall opens into the dining room and features a shelf. I'm looking for suggestions on how to arrange the couch and TV effectively in this layout.

One option is to place the TV directly in front of the fireplace since I don’t use mine either. It’s a great location for viewing! You might want to consider how it looks with your overall layout, though.
But how would you place it? On a stand, or mount it on the wall? With your large TV, finding the right viewing distance and height could be tricky.
Yeah, a lot of people might overlook that suggestion, but it can actually work really well depending on your room's layout.
