Tips for First-Time Homeowners on Landscaping Tools

Asked By GreenThumbGamer92 On

I'm a professional landscaper and my girlfriend and I are about to move into our first home, which we're renting from her grandfather. Along with renting, we're responsible for maintaining the property. While I'm familiar with Stihl tools, they are a bit out of my budget. I'd love to hear any tips on property care and recommendations for affordable landscaping tools that can get the job done well. Thanks a bunch! 🙂

It really depends on the type of property you have, but if you don't already own a battery tool set, consider getting a battery string trimmer from a brand like Makita. It might be a bit of an investment at around $500-$600, but they provide solid performance for most residential needs!

Home Depot has some decent Echo tools that won't break the bank—around $200 for a solid string trimmer. Also, Harbor Freight is a good option for basic tools. They can be cheap and handy! Just set aside some money for tool maintenance; if you buy a $100 tool, stash away $10 for repairs. And stock up on essentials like oil and string line, so you're always ready to go. Good luck!
