I've been trying to grow potatoes in 10 30-litre pots, and honestly, it hasn't gone very well. I ended up with really small potatoes and a few barely-sized ones. I used good quality topsoil and even started preparing them in my greenhouse to give them a better chance. I planted a maximum of three seed potatoes per pot, fairly deep, hoping for a good harvest to enjoy in winter. So, I'm curious, where did I possibly mess up? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

It's great that you're trying to grow potatoes in pots! One thing to consider is the size of the pots and how you’re planting them. Ideally, you should give each potato ample space to grow. I'd recommend only planting one potato per pot; they need room for their roots to spread out. It sounds like you may have overfilled your pots, which can definitely affect their growth. Also, ensure you have proper drainage!

Thanks for your thoughts! The pots do have drainage holes, so I thought that would be okay. But maybe I should rethink how I’m filling them and the number of potatoes per pot.
