Tips for Installing Floating Shelves on Drywall Without Screws

Hey everyone! I'm looking to install some floating shelves in my living room on a drywall wall, but I want to avoid using screws because I'd like to keep the wall intact. Is there any special method, tool, or mounting system that would let me securely hold shelves for books or small decorations without damaging the drywall? If you've had any success with alternatives, I'd love to see your tips or photos!

Don’t skip on screws, seriously! If you remove the shelves later, just use some drywall mud and a touch of paint to cover it. Or try the 'toothpaste trick'—it can help hide small holes!

Honestly, I don’t think it’s a good idea to skip the screws. If you don’t secure it properly, you might end up waking up to a mess on the floor. It’s way easier to patch a screw hole than deal with what could happen otherwise. Just embrace the screws for safety!

Yeah, I agree! A secure mount is better than dealing with a fallen shelf later.

Floating shelves need a solid fastening system. If you really don’t want to use screws, you might try toggle bolts, but even then, don’t expect them to support heavy books. Just be cautious with what you put on those shelves!

Exactly! If you want to hold a lot of weight, it’s best just to go for a bookshelf instead.
