Tips for Keeping Indoor Plants Bug-Free in a Funeral Home

Hey folks! I'm considering introducing some live plants into my workplace at a funeral home, hoping to create a more welcoming environment. While I already keep a flower in a vase and we have some fake plants, I think having real greenery would really enhance the atmosphere for visitors. I'm planning to personally take care of the plants since I'll be around for a while, but I am a little concerned about preventing any pesky bugs since my director has had bad experiences with that in the past. I usually use a lot of cinnamon in the potting soil to keep pests away, but I'm looking for additional methods to assure that our plants remain bug-free. Also, could the presence of people coming in and out pose a risk of bringing pests with them? Any advice on hardy plants that are easy to maintain would also be appreciated!

I recommend spraying your plants with Bonide insecticidal soap every now and then; that should help keep the pests at bay. Just keep in mind how many plants you want because it might get pricey depending on the number!
