Tips for Keeping Shower Water Cool in Hot Weather

I've got a bit of a problem with my second bathroom, which is on the west side of my house and tends to get pretty hot in the summer. It has a single shower (no tub) and only one small window that faces south. My daughter uses this shower, and she has a heart condition, so it's really important for her to be able to shower comfortably without overheating. She struggles to get the water cool enough, and I want to help her out. I've thought about a few possible solutions: changing the faucet to a two-handle setup for better control, adding more insulation to the wall (though I'm not sure it'll help much), or finding a gadget to help regulate the temperature of the water. I really want to make her shower experience more comfortable since she's fainted before. Any advice would be appreciated!

Have you checked the cartridge orientation in your single-handle faucet? Sometimes, if the cartridge is installed upside down, it can mess with the hot and cold water mix. Also, single-handle faucets have a temperature limit stop that might be restricting how far the handle can turn. You could look up your faucet model online and see if there are adjustments you can make to help out. For example, if you have a Moen L2361, consult the manual—it could make a difference!

Thanks, I'll definitely check it out! It's the same model as the one in my other bathroom, and sometimes it feels like that faucet has a mind of its own. My dad's outdoor shower, built with random old pipes, works perfectly every time!
