I'm working with a 22 x 13 panel that I need to reduce to 22 x 11. The tricky part is that this cut is a crosscut. I have a Dewalt 7491rs table saw, but I don't own a crosscut sled, and I know most sleds wouldn't handle a cut this size well, especially on a jobsite saw. Normally, I cut with the guard and kickback pawls, and I always use a riving knife or a featherboard when possible. I'm just wondering if it's safe to attempt this crosscut or if I'm setting myself up for kickback by using the saw in this way.

Are you trying to cut the panel from 22" long x 13" wide down to 22" long x 11" wide? That sounds like a rip cut, which is pretty straightforward with a table saw and a featherboard. Check out this video for some tips.

It would be easier to use a circular saw or jigsaw with a temporary fence set up. You can support the panel on blocks or a sawhorse while you cut.

Yeah, that's the right dimensions, but the grain is running 90 degrees to the cut. Most panels would be cut with the grain, but mine isn't. Plus, I know crosscuts go against the wood fibers.
