Hey everyone! I'm really looking for some advice on how to get my Madagascar palms to thicken up. I have two of them – one is about a foot tall and the other is nearing 3 feet. Both are outside and look really healthy, but their trunks are pretty thin. I've come across some conflicting information online about how to encourage them to grow thicker, and I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing. By the way, the taller one started growing multiple heads this spring; I'm curious if that affects anything. Any tips would be awesome, thanks!

To help them grow fatter, focus on a few key factors: proper food, consistent watering, plenty of sunlight, and give them time to grow! I’m curious if your taller palm had any damage before it started growing multiple heads? I did some research and found that in their natural environment, they grow in some unique ways, kind of like bottle palms.
What do you feed them, by the way?

No damage that I know of. I kept it in a small greenhouse for over five years before moving it outside in the spring since it gets too hot in there during summer. I'm excited about the multiple heads but really want the trunk to get thicker—it’s just barely 4 inches in circumference!
