I'm trying to seal the gap between the baseboards and the LVP flooring in my kitchen since my kids keep spilling liquids, and I'm worried it's seeping under the flooring and into the wood. The gap is pretty narrow, so I need a way to apply my clear silicone caulk with precision. Regular caulking tools aren't working because they leave a thin layer of caulk around the bead, which I don't want. I'm considering using a squeeze bottle with a small tip but I'm open to other suggestions. Any tips on achieving a clean caulk line?

Cut the tip of your caulk tube a bit smaller than you usually would. If you're like me, you might cut it too large and end up wasting caulk. Also, using painter's tape at the baseboard and floor can help; just remove it before the caulk sets!

If I feel like it’s getting too much, I stop, clean my finger, and then feather the caulk in gently. Just make sure to clean up any overflow immediately so it stays neat!
Try using painter's tape on both sides of the gap. This way, you can control where the caulk goes. Just pull the tape off after you smooth the bead, and you should have a nice clean line!
