I've got a cover on my outdoor radon extractor that's sealed with caulking, and with the temperatures in Chicago dropping to 5 degrees, the caulk has frozen solid. I need to figure out how to remove it without causing damage. Any suggestions on how to tackle this?

You can use a razor knife to cut through the caulk. Just be careful to only cut through the caulk and not the surrounding material. It should come off pretty easily once you've sliced it along the edges.
The best way to remove caulk is by using a utility knife. Just glide it into the caulk and score both the top and bottom to loosen it up. If you're not sure how to do it, a quick search on YouTube for 'how to remove caulk' can show you some techniques. It's pretty straightforward!
