Hey everyone! I recently became a homeowner and I'm dealing with a bit of a situation. My concrete driveway slopes down to an asphalt road, and I noticed the asphalt is peeling away where it meets the driveway. After cleaning it up, I ended up with a pretty steep drop-off to the road. Also, there's a small adjacent area next to the driveway that serves as a bonus parking spot, and that asphalt is peeling too. I'm looking for advice on how to repair these areas and prevent further damage. Should I call in a pro to re-pour some asphalt for the parking spot? Plus, any tips on creating a smoother transition from the driveway to the roadway would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

You could go the route of doing it right by removing part of the concrete and re-pouring it along with new asphalt. It's the best option but can be a bit pricey. If you're looking for something more budget-friendly, you might want to try using bags of cold asphalt to create a ramp, though this would likely need replacing after a while. Some people even use wood planks as a quick fix, but it's not the most long-term solution.
Honestly, anything you do as a 'repair' is probably better put towards a proper fix. Hiring a pro would definitely ensure it's done right. They would likely remove the old asphalt and possibly do some grading to make sure the transition is smooth, but yeah, it's a good idea to ask about costs upfront if you're considering it. It could save you money and hassle in the long run!
When you say 'fix it right,' do you mean I should definitely hire a professional? What does that process look like, and how much am I looking to spend?

Using blacktop for the parking spot sounds like a solid option; it could work well for that area too!
