Hey everyone! I'm considering cleaning my gutters on my own since I have a small house and can reach them with my ladder, although it does say 'don't stand here' on the top rung. I'm planning to get a taller ladder, but I'm 52 and want to make sure I stay safe while doing this. I enjoy DIY projects, so I'm looking for any tips or advice on how to do this safely. Thanks!

Definitely invest in a taller ladder and make sure it's secure while you're using it—maybe bungee it to something for extra stability. And don’t forget a helmet for safety!
I've cleaned my gutters for years! When using a ladder, ensure it's tall enough and stable. I personally prefer my A-frame ladder since it's easier to maneuver. If you want to avoid climbing altogether, there are attachment kits for leaf blowers that let you clean from the ground—just make sure to wear eye protection!

I tried one of those leaf blower kits, but they didn't work well for me because I had some stubborn sticks stuck in the gutters. Still, it’s a safe option if you can keep debris manageable!
